Discover Ulster’s hidden wildlife on this beginner's guided walk with CEDaR (Centre for Environmental Data and Recording)

This is a beginner's guide to biological recording! Take a walk around our beautiful, nature-rich museum and talk to CEDaR staff as you learn how to identify and record plants and animals.

Based in Northern Ireland, CEDaR (Centre for Environmental Data and Recording) encourages our citizen scientists to submit their species sightings. These records help us track species trends, write reports, locate endangered species and much more. They also help tackle the biodiversity crisis and the impacts of climate change.

Why join our Widlife Walk?

  • Learn from experts at CEDaR
  • Contribute to biodiversity records used by scientists & policymakers
  • This is a family‑friendly guided walk for all ages and no experience needed!
  • Your ticket includes general admission to the Ulster Folk Museum before or after the walk, so you'll get even more from your visit!

Next dates: Friday 5th September & Friday 10th October.
